Dr. Chustek is a Board Certified Psychiatrist treating patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout New Jersey. He provides a compassionate, comprehensive approach to caring for patients of various psychiatric conditions, including Dementia. He also helps families manage the intricacies of dealing with a family member experiencing Dementia and other medical conditions.

 

Dr. Chustek has extensive experience treating the elderly and adult populations within skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, and assisted living facilities. Prior to joining his current group practice, Dr. Chustek served as the Medical Director of one of the largest group practices throughout the country that provided behavioral health care in long term care settings. He has also helped develop health and wellness programs for employees of various organizations, as well as an electronic medical record system for a large national group practice. He has been a keynote speaker on various topics related to behavioral health. 

 

Dr. Chustek previously served as the lead Psychiatrist for the Partial Hospitalization Program at Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center of Somerset County, New Jersey, and worked at Morristown Medical Center where he managed the Behavioral Medicine Outpatient Department and the Co-occuring Mental Illness division.  Dr. Chustek also served as Associate Medical Director and Physician Advisor at Magellan Health Services.

 

After graduating from SUNY Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Chustek completed his Psychiatry residency training at the prestigious Northwell Health's North Shore-Long Island Jewish residency program, where he served as Chief Resident of one of the largest psychiatric training programs in the country. During his residency, Dr. Chustek was nominated as Top Psychiatry Resident in the Country and was the winner of the Consultation-Liaison Award. 

 

Dr. Chustek has been published on the topic of obesity, developed a research presentation on "Depression in the Workplace and its Effect on Worker Productivity" and serves as a community speaker on psychiatric illness for various organizations.  

 

Dr. Chustek is a Member of the American Psychiatric Association, and served as the Union County representative for the Tri-County Chapter of the New Jersey Psychiatric Association. Dr. Chustek was awarded the Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association Award for his dedication, commitment, and experience to the field of Psychiatry.
